The marketing scenes and marketing challenge have changed a lot after the introduction of smartphones and even more since social media became a tool for marketing. On social media platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram, video marketing has become a prime place for video marketing.

A survey found that 82% of whole internet traffic will come from videos by the year 2022. It is because video marketing helps you create an identity that no other forms of media help you achieve that effect.

NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, YOUR JOB IS TO TELL YOUR STORY

Whether you own a small business or a huge one, video marketing is the answer to every marketing challenge you may face. Here is how:

Challenge 1: Marketing challenge begins with building Trust

Your brand may not get any sales and conversions if there is no trust. Since the internet is roaming with hackers and frauds, people often don’t trust to buy the things they see on the internet. Thus, building trust through your marketing should be the prime agenda because no matter how good your product is, without trust, no one will give a penny.

Companies like Nike spent $3.75 billion in building brand trust and awareness through marketing and advertising in 2019. They did it for the audience to trust them and choose their brand over their competitors.

Social proof and authenticity are what you need to explain to your audience why. And videos are the best way to convey the message that proves that. How? Watching films/motion pictures involves our attention, memory, imagination, and emotions. All that is required to generate trust, by creating an emotional bond between your brand and prospect.

Challenge 2: Social media engagement

To start building trust, your first step should be to be seen. Since we have a screen with us everywhere we go (yes, we are talking about your smartphones), we keep scrolling the content we see in the social media wherever and whenever we have time to look at the content the world has to share with us.

This ocean of content (and intensive scrolling) reduced our attention span to 8 seconds! With that, what is reduced is the number of people who read an advertisement. For your audience to give attention to your advertisement, you need a catchy video.

Video has proved to be the most effective marketing tool for all types of businesses, including small and medium businesses. The video became the tool for these businesses to keep functioning during and after the Covid lockdown situation.

Have you wondered why you like and share dog videos more than dog pictures? If we trust the survey, video attracts 300% more traffic than any other form of marketing, especially on social media. People are free to share, like, comment on any post that they find emotionally involved with. While pictures and text do get some attention, the video takes away the spotlight.

Challenge 3: Increasing conversion on the landing page

For instance, a company launched a new range of cell-phones claiming it to be different from the others. You came to their site to see the specification, but those are nowhere to be found on the landing page.

What will you do? Leave the website without even trying to brainstorm. Your brain tries to use the easiest path possible. If your prospect is unable to understand your website or the benefits of your product, they’ll leave. This concept is called Heuristic.

This exact problem occurred with Dropbox in 2009, when they were struggling to make sales because it was complicated for the audience to understand it. But when they thought to create an explainer video for their prospects, their business boomed. Explainer videos have become very common for landing pages so that people can understand the benefits of their product. These videos have proved to increase by 80% conversions.

Whatever your goal is, video marketing is the key to make it reach.

Challenge 4: Get a faster rank on Google

There are about 6.9 billion Google searches every day and in this vast ocean of competition, being at the top gives you an unfair advantage. A study found out that only 5.7% of newly published can make it up to the top 10 on Google within a year and that is a huge marketing challenge to take up.

And if you manage their SEO (Search Engine Optimization) takes somewhere between 2-6 months on average to get on top.

Since Google acquired YouTube, having videos on your site (or on YouTube itself) will highly affect your search engine position. If you have videos on your site, you are 53 times more likely to show up in the top searches in Google. It is because SEO loves videos. You do not need a professional to make videos, use apps like Viva Video, InShot, and Kinemaster, and there you go!

Even if you have videos for your brand, but did not include a detailed description of your video and related tags along with it, then there is no use of those videos. The robots may love videos, but they would not know what they are about if you do not put relevant tags.

Videos also work wonders on social media engagement. Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn give video content more visibility. You have higher chances of getting exposed to a wider audience if you use video content on your social networks.

Challenge 5: Creating Content Strategy

Creating powerful content means creating something useful for your audience, where they will find spending time worthy. For that, you need to understand what they need and how would they like to have it. Using tools like Google Trends, you can discover what type of content is booming in your industry. If they liked any of your previous blogs, you can make it into a video.

After publishing that article on your website, then you can also upload it on YouTube and other social media platforms after optimizing them. For example, your video is 5 minutes long but for an Instagram story, you need to make it for 15 seconds.

After posting videos on social media platforms, why not create podcasts out of the video’s audio? Yes, it is a good idea to post podcasts on platforms like Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, etc.

Challenge 6: Low budget marketing is a big marketing challenge

You do not need to spend billions as Nike did for their marketing. You do not need a high budget or professional video-making skills for creating a video ad.

If you own a small business, you may know that it is a problem to create a separate budget for anything new. But if you have a smartphone with a decent camera, you can create videos on your own. You can take the help of your team members to handle the camera for you too.

If you are worried about editing, don’t! Video making and editing apps such as Promo, Animoto, Canva, etc will help you edit your videos professionally. For cinematic footages, you have Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, and Pexels.

To increase your reach and rank in social media and search engines, video marketing is essential. And you can achieve it with whatever budget you have.
